Well we've been open for a while now & already had our first Art Show. It was a great success & I can't wait to have more! We've got more cleaning up in the back half of the bottom floor that we should be finished with soon & then we can start on the top floor, again. Our goal is to remodel the small bathroom that is already upstairs, so that we can go ahead and move in! So in about 6 months, we should be living Downtown!!

Paris in the evening

I took this picture a few nights ago during the full moon and just thought I would share it with everyone. Just for the history for Mirk and Dan....since the city was named after Paris, France a much smaller version of the Eiffell Tower (standing 65' tall) was constructed. In 1998 a cowboy hat was added to it to make it "Texan."

  • Kari, this is a wonderful photo! Coincidentally, I took a photo of the moon over Madison, NJ (where I live) when it was full last week as well (in case you're interested check it out
    here
    ).

Have you ever seen the movie "Paris, Texas" with Nastassja Kinski? I saw it a long time ago and can't remember if I liked it or not.

Thanks for the photo and the history.

    Dan,
No I've never actually seen the Paris, Texas movie. Oddly enough...I dont think it was actually filmed here in Paris...and I heard its not that good ;)

  • Great picture, Kari! That's amazing! I'm sure we'll be seeing that thing all over the place soon!

  • Kari, you're right about "Paris, Texas" not being filmed in Paris. It actually was filmed throughout Texas, but not in Paris! Go figure! Here's a list of its filming locations.

I don't remember it as being particularly good. I think I went to see it because Kinski was in it and I may have had a crush on her at the time. ;)

But its director, Wim Wenders, has directed some fine films, "Wings of Desire" being one of them.

  • What happened to everything being bigger in Texas ;-)

Great pic I can see I have some competition in the pix department know!! HELP!!!!

  • Sometimes that just isnt true ;)

You have MUCH MUCH better landscapes than me though! I have maybe 3 good things to take pics of here! :D

  • Kari you might think the pix you post are not interesting but they are!

It lets your readers from other countries see sights they could possible never ever see, to me my pix are just mundane because I am used to my surroundings.

So what you might think/consider not interesting because you see it every day can and does interests others... Charlie posts some great pix of the city it does not need to be countryside far from it!

That's why I like to see the pix of the loft and Le Tour.. you can't argue with the facts!!

By Blogger mirk, at September 22, 2006 5:48 PM

  • Yeah I guess that is true Mirk! Never really thought of it that way. :) I'm happy you hear you enjoy our pix! I'm trying to start making time to get back into my photography...Maybe I'll get more pics up soon! :D
