Well we've been open for a while now & already had our first Art Show. It was a great success & I can't wait to have more! We've got more cleaning up in the back half of the bottom floor that we should be finished with soon & then we can start on the top floor, again. Our goal is to remodel the small bathroom that is already upstairs, so that we can go ahead and move in! So in about 6 months, we should be living Downtown!!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It’s that time of the year where no matter how bad your day has been, there is that one place you can go that will just brighten you day. And after a bad week, I really needed that place. So, at 5:00pm, I shut down the computer, went out to the Matrix and headed towards the place that I would normally dread going to…actually it’s more that Joe dreads it - I don’t mind too much. And sure enough, when I walked into the doors of Wal-Mart, turned right and headed down the aisle, I started to feel just a little better, and as soon as I walked through the big doorway and heard the Christmas music, saw the decorations and trees, it put a huge ‘Grench like’ smile on my face. I was like a kid in a candy store!! I only needed one little suction cup thingy to help keep my new Fall wreath on the screen door, but ended up heading out with a little more. I walked every aisle, just taking it all in and listening to my favorite kind of music, you know…’Santa Clause is Coming to Town’ and ‘Silver Bells’. I so badly just wanted to buy everything that I saw but figured I might need to take Joe along and let him make a few choices on the Christmas décor as well. So instead, I only got 3 stocking holders, one for me, one for Joe and of course one for Wicket. I tried finding Wicket a stocking too, Joe and I already got ours last year at an awesome 75% off sale at Belk’s, but maybe I am too picky or maybe I just love my dog too much, because none of them seemed right. Hopefully I can find one online later. After a while I finally decided I better head home and get ready to go out to Mom and Dad’s for dinner. Leaving Wal-Mart I must have looked like some kind of goofy girl with a big grin on my face, but I didn’t really care. For once this week I actually was in a really, really good mood and I plan on keeping that mood, for the rest of the year anyways. But until that tree comes down after the new year begins, all I have to do is think of all my Christmas decorations waiting to be put up and presents to be wrapped and that grin will come right back!! Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year!!

  • Yup....Christi is the same way!! She loves Christmas and loves getting the decorations. She has already busted out her Christmas cd once. Maybe you can put up our Christmas lights for me? :)

  • Ah, the glorious holidays...Larr and I went to Wal-Mart today to get a new tree! I could've spent hours back in that heavenly wonderland. I want it all.

  • I hear you! Laura wanted to start putting up our decorations last week but I thought we should wait until at least Thanksgiving! But, last night I ended up doing my first Christmas shopping of the season and now I'm in the Spirit! So, tonight is going to be spent unpacking boxes and boxes and putting up the tree. A full 44 days before Christmas!

  • Oh my, Kari you are a little early. If I put up my tree now there would be no room for Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to everyone being here this year.
    Hang onto your Christmas spirit.
